Prayer: Asking God... :::Thursday:::

Holy Father, today I am praying that, as your children, we would have a strong unquenchable desire of truth, even the difficult ones. That our desire for your Word and the life sustaining truth that we find in it would bring us more comfort and hope, even when that truth is one that is hard to swallow. And Lord, I'm also praying for myself and our people that we would embrace Biblical Christianity and not American Evangelicalism. There are so many voices on TV and writing books right now that say God wants us to be healthy wealthy and whole but what we see of believers in the Scripture tells us that we better be willing to suffer ridicule and possibly give up our lives for what we believe. I choose to believe in the God of the Bible and not a westernized god that acts more like santa claus waiting to deliver to us the things that we ask if we are "good enough".
I will take the things that you give and let go of the things you take away...
Blessed Be Your Name...
Amen!
